Developed with the objective to Groom Managers for the Services Sector, the vision of the programme is to develop world-class professionals with strong service mindedness and customer value enhancement orientation. Focusing on Service Leadership, the programme is aimed to:

Stimulate participants to think creative and bring out innovative approaches to managing unique characteristics of the service business namely tangibalizing the intangibility, matching supply with demand uncertainty & volatility, managing customer satisfaction and service quality.
Encourage students to go beyond the classroom and learn more on the basis of research and application based art of services management.
Enable them to develop a global perspective and integrate the same with India.
Facilitate them to lay greater emphasis anticipating and predicting the future through honing skills of intuition and gut feeling besides sound data analysis.
Train them to be result-oriented by being good on both strategy formulation as well as its successful implementation.
Develop in them service leadership qualities, people skills, and team orientation by blending both General Management capabilities and strong service skills.
 
The Programme
 
Being a Services Management Programme, the course will equip participants with fundamental service management skills and an in-depth knowledge in the chosen area(s) of single/dual specialization of the services types.
Based on the way the services management education has evolved and the emerging market needs, the programme focuses on imparting education covering both core services management areas as well as carefully selected classic and contemporary elective courses, say such as financial services, risk and insurance management services, IT & ITES services.
The programme is challenging, hence a large part of learning will be based on applied research, live projects and internship besides classroom conceptualization and cases, quizzes, term papers, written examinations, case presentation, discussions, etc.
Being a Service Management course, the stream of electives will be with a contemporary focus on: Financial Services, Insurance & Risk Management Services; ITES; Retailing & Merchandising Services and Marketing Services (incl. Research, Consultancy and Communication Services).
 
The Programme Design
 

Spread over six trimesters in 2 years, the programme consists of a Dissertation and 35 courses (25 Core Courses + 10 Elective Courses + 1 Course equivalent Dissertation) offering students the opportunity for specialization in the sectors offered. Each course of 3 credits engages a classroom teaching of 35 hours

TERM IV: 18 credits: (2 Core + 4 Elective courses of 3 credits each)
 
  • Strategy and Strategy Formulation
  • Service Satisfaction: Measurement and Management
  • Four Elective courses of 3 credits each
 
TERM V: 16 credits: (1 Core Course+ 4 Elective courses of 3 credits each + Dissertation of 1 credit )
 
  • Corporate Strategy: Implementation and Governance
  • Four Elective + Dissertation (1 credit) : Submission and Presentation in Term VI
 
TERM VI: 08 credits: (2 Elective Courses of 3 credits each + Dissertation of 2 credit)
 
  • Two Elective Courses 3 credit each
  • Dissertation (2 credits) : Final Submission & Presentation
